all in a days work...

"April Showers" 8x10
"Branching Out" 6x7
"Honey" 6x7
Here are the 3 pieces I've finished this week. They'll all be in the next shop update. My plans for the day included painting this afternoon, but I've spent most of my time fighting a borrowed sewing machine. I'm trying to sew 8 simple 7x7 square pockets, which we can fill with corn, to use as tossing bags for the backyard game Cornhole. My husband built the wooden structures, via instructions from the American Cornhole Association. (Can you believe there is such a thing?) Anyhow- 13$ worth of fabric, 3 hours, and one band-aid later, they're done! And then, he points out we could've bought them online for a mere $20. Did he really have to tell me that at this point? Argh....hopefully I can settle down tonight and get some art in!

these new pieces are beautiful! i recently discovered your work through indie fixx and really love it!

i have no idea what the cornhole game is, but have heard that term used in a cruder way :) i'll have to read up on it.

Hi Cathy! Your comment made me chuckle :) The idea behind cornhole is that you toss these corn filled-bags up a wooden ramp and into a small hole. You get points for having it land on the board, and more points if it goes in the hole. It's actually quite fun!

Cornhole? LOL! I thought that was a swear word!

Sewing machines can be evil. I'm happy to hear you won out over the sewing machine! Sounds like your kids will enjoy the game outside.

P.S. I just googled "cornhole" and there is no mention of it being a bad word! Just all about the game. Where did I grow up? LOL!

I have never heard of cornhole, but I *LOVE* the painting of the girl with branches in her hair. The frames are great, too. :)

these are such wonderful pieces - I especially adore the one in the center ... after glancing at the other comments, looks like I'm not the only one drawn to the girl with the branches in her hair. :)

Feel the satifaction of a fight well faught and won. Way to go!

Beautiful work! I love "branch head girl" (my own title of course) and the frames are perfect for them.
