Today was a bit of a yucky day for me. My mood was blah at best. Perhaps it's the winter gloom bug sitting on my shoulder. I tried to sketch, then paint, but this will go in the scrap paper bin for the kids to paint over. I spent a couple of hours this evening digging through rarely-used toys, looking for things to donate. Does anyone else feel the need to purge belongings in the winter when you're stuck inside, and the house starts to feel a bit small? I can go on some crazy clutter control binges in the winter. How do you deal with the winter blues? Do tell. If you live somewhere that's currently 75 and sunny, don't respond, because I don't like you much today :)

Well, I live in 75 degree weather now...but I grew up in Edmonton which was cold as friggin' ice.
So....here's what I used to do.
1. Play barbies (Ken included)
2. Watch Wonderwoman
3. Eat grilled cheese & fruit cocktail while watching Brady Bunch
4. stand over the heater.
5. Eat Dough Gods
6. Listen to Supertramp and dance around the coffee table
Hope this helps!!

I'm not sure what a Dough God is but the sound of it does put a smile on my face :)
I too live in warm weather....BUT not to very long ago i lived in Detroit. I hated everybit of those LONG winter months. I would spend hours throwing stuff away. By spring time my spring cleaning was done and all i had to do was go shopping for shoes for summer...hehe!
I completely understand your desire to get rid of things during these long cold days. In fact, my husband and I decided this morning that we would clean out our main closet -- maybe a bit of spring cleaning will make the warmer months arrive sooner??! One thing I do that makes me feel like it is summer or spring is make ice pops. i know, it is counter-intuitive, but I love them and they remind me of days at the beach....
Sandals and ice-pops! And picnic lunches, long bike rides through the park, splashing in the kiddie pool...you ladies have longing for spring!
eat, drink and sleep. its what i do in the summer time too, minus the sleep ofcourse.
I'm in the same MUCK at the moment... ugh... February is always the worst month of the year. Here in Wisconsin the snow is piled so high you can hardly back out of your driveway without hitting something. The only thing that relieves it a BIT for me is to go sledding or skating or something outdoors. But that's even too much lately!
